The Wolves Of Maple Hollows

It was the last summer's Day around mid-afternoon time. Noelle and her sister, Amelia were walking their dog Skewbee in the woods, and were headed to the pond. They both set out looking for their cousins Blaze, and Alexandra, knowing that they went to the boat dock to fish. As Noelle and Amelia approached the dock with Skewbee, Blaze was helping his sister Alexandra put a worm on her hook. "Hi," shouted Amelia to Blaze and Alexandra! Skewbee ran right up to the edge of the dock to look at, and sniff, the water. "Shhhhh!" said Blaze to his cousins Amelia, and Noelle. Suddenly right in front of Skewbee, a big fish jumped up out of the water, wiggled in the air splashing water everywhere. It then flipped, and dove back in making a huge splash.
Author, Michael W. Brault with Co-Authors Blaze Pikul and Noelle Pikul wrote this adventure together. This story was born out of the discussions from sight words, and the use of proper grammar while home schooling with my grandchildren for first and third grades. We do not always get it right, but we do try to have fun while learning.
The Wolves Of Maple Hollows, is part one of the series. This is a short children's story about four kids that find themselves searching for their missing dog, Skewbee. The adventure takes them deep into the dangerous Maple Hollows Woods.
