Can't Sea Water
Chapter 1
I woke gasping in absolute darkness while lying in a pool of gew and sea water that surrounded me in every way with only a small air pocket that I would fight to find as I squirmed around. Each grasp at breath took every muscle in my body as I struggled to find that air pocket. The water rushed in and then out again filling the place I found myself in. I was stuck with one arm that was fully extended above my head and the other arm was down at my side and I could not move them being squeezed in absolute darkness. I would try and push with my feet against the sides and bottom because I could not bend my knees. Each time I pushed with my feet I was able to take a breath, but only if the air pocket was there. If it was not there I would try and breathe and ingest seawater and filth.

This is a short story about a man that is given an assignment that he does not want to carry out. He has legitimate fears and that sets his attitude toward his assignment. He finds a way to escape however he reminds us that we can jump out of the frying pan and into the fire. Sometimes when we think about a true story, we forget how real it was for our character.
