It was first light on Mid Winters' Day. The sun could barely be seen peeking through the trees and heavy clouds, along the edge of the Maple Hollows Mountains. Sisters, Noelle, and Amelia were finishing breakfast in the dining room while their cousins, Blaze, and Alexandra were putting on their snow pants in the breezeway. "I can't find my skates," announced Alexandra. Blaze was almost done putting on his snow boots for their trip down the path to the Maple Hollows Pond. "You left your skates on the porch from the last time you went skating," said Grandma to Alexandra. "Everyone's skates are on the porch."

The Wolves Of Maple Hollows, The Unexpected Blizzard, is part two of the series. The adventure is a short children's story about a young boy named Blaze and three young girls, Amelia, Noelle, and Alexandra, and their dog, Skewbee. The children set off to go ice skating at the Maple Hollows pond when a blizzard takes them all by surprise. Things get dangerous in the Maple Hollows Woods when the falling snow makes it difficult to see the way home.
